Robert Lane Britten, Bob, 82, of Rochester Mills, PA, formerly of Philipsburg, PA, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 28, 2022.

Bob was born January 1, 1940 to Theodore A. and Mary (Shaffer) Britten in Twin Rocks, Cambria County, PA.  He has the distinction of being the first child born in Cambria County in the decade of the 1940s. He was a US Army veteran and a proud member of the 82nd Air Borne having served in Korea.

Bob was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance churches in Osceola Mills and Clearfield. He graduated from Blacklick Valley High School and received his B.S. in accounting from Anderson University.  Bob was a self-employed accountant for many years and enjoyed assisting many clients with their businesses and entrepreneurial endeavors.  Bob enjoyed a simple life: reading and discussing the Bible, spending time with his family, gardening, and working with and getting to know his clients.)

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Caroline (Matas) Britten (Rochester Mills), two sons and their wives, Richard L Britten and Deanna (Rochester Mills) and Gregg Britten and Diana (Philipsburg), three grandchildren: Megan Britten (Woodbridge, VA), Jessica Britten (Tampa, FL), and Hannah Britten (Franklin, PA,) his younger brother Art and wife Nancy (Naples FL), and his son Todd’s widow Cindy Britten (Knoxville TN).

He was preceded in death by his parents, his eldest son Todd, his brothers Theodore Jr., Porter, and Harold, his sisters Hermenia Hammer, Thelma Butala, and Waneda Hancharick.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM at

Mt. Carmel Church, 3023 Clover Run Road, Mahaffey, PA 15757.

Interment will take place at Mahoning Union Cemetery, Marchand, PA

The Waldron Funeral Home of Mahaffey have been entrusted with the arrangements.
