Obituary

Jessie L. Hickox, 87, of Rossiter, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 at Jefferson Court in Brookville.

She was born November 18, 1935, to Jess and Bertha (Shields) Lydic in McGee’s Mills.

Jessie was a strong woman who was ahead of her time. She was fiercely protective of her family. Jessie had an incredible work ethic and worked full time until she was 81 years old. She enjoyed working and being around people. She had an incredible life and was able to travel the world with many of her friends. Jessie was totally independent until she wasn’t.

She is survived by a son Arthur “Artie” Woods, Rossiter, PA and a daughter Carol Melvin and husband Greg, Miramar, FL. She is also survived by her daughter in law, Pat Woods, State College, PA, six grandchildren: Derek Woods, Jennifer Woods, Kristen Woods, Tara Spearing, Ashley Woods and Sean Melvin, nine great grandchildren, her sister Barb Lunger, Smithport, PA and her sister in law Genevieve Esther Lydic, Indiana, PA.

She was preceded in death by a son Allen Woods.

A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date.
