Obituary

Edward M. Chesnoka, 84 of Rossiter, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born October 1, 1940 to John and Helen (Olexy) Chesnoka in Olanta, Clearfield County.

Ed was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the United States Army. He was a member of the Rossiter American Legion and the Glen Campbell VFW. Ed was a shoe salesman for Knapp Shoes throughout western Pennsylvania until his retirement in 1998. He enjoyed watching and coaching sports. He coached the Punxsy Hotel and the Rossiter Miners baseball teams and was an avid Pirates and Steelers fan.

He is survived by four daughters; Lisa Chesnoka, KY, Kimberly Knox and husband Robert, Covode, Mary Chesnoka, DuBois, and Rita Chesnoka, Punxsutawney.  He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, two sisters; Jean Kopp and husband Boyd and Jo Rodgers, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Jane Chesnoka in 2017, a daughter Mary Ann Chesnoka, a sister Mary Ann Van Horn, and a brother Ron Truance.

Friends will be received on Monday, August 21, 2023 at McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA from 1pm until 4pm at which time a prayer service will be officiated by Father Keon Tu. Internment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney, PA.
