William P. Cowhey

William P. Cowhey, 82, of Mahaffey, passed away on September 23, 2023 at Hilltop Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Altoona, PA.

Bill was born on December 11, 1940 in Hartford, CT to the late Cornelius and Doris (Reuter) Cowhey.  After graduating high school, he enlisted in the US Army serving six years and upon his discharge immediately reenlisted the next day to serve nine more years during the Vietnam War era.  After his military service he was self-employed.  He attended Otterbein Church.

Bill was known for living simply, willing to help anyone in need and being a good friend.

Private services will be held at McCabe Funeral Home, Inc. with Military Honors provided by the Jefferson County Veteran’s Honor Guard.  Internment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, PA.
