William J. Augustyn

William J. Augustyn, 71, of Punxsutawney, passed away on September 22, 2026 at his home.

He was born May 18, 1955 to Walter J. and Lenore V. (Droney) Augustyn in Punxsutawney.

Bill graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School and immediately enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served twenty years before retiring. After his service to his country, he moved back to Punxsutawney and had a 20-year career at Punxsutawney WalMart. Bill enjoyed spending time with friends at the Army Navy Club and the ISDA Club in Punxsutawney.

He is survived by four sisters; Marianne Augustyn of DuBois, Kathy “Katie” Brown (Ronald) of Wexford, Jane Addams (Dean) of Mars and Margaret Williams of Greenville, PA, and one brother James Augustyn (Patricia) of Ohio.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Joseph Augustyn and a sister Paula K. Augustyn.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA 15767 and are private for the family.

Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
