Walter Jay “Jake” Arnold, 73, of LaJose, passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at his home with his family by his side.

He was born April 25, 1952 to John N. and Geraldine (Igou-Black) Arnold in Reade Township, Cambria County.

Jake was a lifetime member of the Glen Campbell Fire Department, Glen Campbell American Legion, and the Barnesboro VFW Post 343. He worked various jobs, which included PennDot, S&S Paving, and Lamkie Paving, before his retirement. Jake enjoyed listening to country music, drinking beer, fishing and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He is survived by a daughter, Deborah L. Wetzel, Northern Cambria, and four sons, Walt Arnold (Veronica), Westover, James E. Arnold, LaJose, Jason L. Arnold (Jenna), Glen Campbell, and Justin A. Arnold (Sonya), Benezette, the mother of his children, Rose M. Arnold, LaJose, eleven grandchildren, one great grandchild, three sisters, Elsie Weakland, Burnside, Carol Johns and Delores Michalides both of Johnstown, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin daughters, Dawn Marie and Faith Anne, a brother Francis Arnold, and two sisters, Katherine Hockenberry and Helen “Piney” Barto.

Friends will be received on Saturday, from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM at the Waldron Funeral Home, 831 Market Street, Mahaffey, PA 15757.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Waldron Funeral Home, PO Box 125, Mahaffey, PA 15757.
