Thomas L. Bush

Thomas L. Bush, 86, of Delancy, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026 at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born August 29, 1939 in Punxsutawney to Howard L. and Dora (Milliron) Bush.

Tom was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church. He served with the United States Air Force. Tom worked for T.W Phillips Gas and Oil for 42 years before retiring in 2001. He enjoyed woodworking and could create many things out of wood and he could fix almost anything. He also enjoyed gardening, hunting and NASCAR races. Tom never met a stranger and would talk to anyone he met which led to lasting friendships. He would drop anything to help a friend or family member. Most of all, Tom loved his family and loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

He is survived by a son Thomas L. “Tommy” Bush and wife Shawnee, Punxsutawney, two daughters, Tammy L. Burkett and husband Sheldon, FL, Traci L. Lorelli and husband Rich, Anita, six grandchildren; Tommy Bush and wife Lindsay, Jamie Bush and wife Kristen, Morgan Burkett, Chase Lorelli, Madison Lorelli, and Dalton Burkett, two great grandchildren; Thomas and Crew Bush, a sister Nancy Weisenstein, a sister-in-law, Cheryl Musselman, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 65 years, Mary Jo Bush, March 29, 2026.

At Tom’s request, services are private. Military Honors will be performed by the Jefferson County Veteran’s Honor Guard.

Interment will take place at St. John’s Cemetery.
