Ronald Earl Shirley

Ronald Earl Shirley, 79 of Punxsutawney, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center. Ronald was born October 31, 1938 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Francis E. And Della Mae (Barnett) Shirley. He was a member of the CMA Church in Punxsutawney and was a truck driver for Wm G. Saterlee & Sons where he worked for 18 years before retiring. He is survived by his stepsons; Larry Shaffer and wife Carol of Van, PA., John Shaffer of Rossiter, his very close friend; Tammy Ransel of Punxsutawney and one sister; Betty Knox of Covode. Three step grandchildren; Larry Shaffer, Jr. and wife Tracy, Stacy Fritts and husband Kevin, Johnthan Shaffer and wife Nicole and three step great-grandchildren; Bradley and Nicolis Fritts, Darriene, Navada and Devynn Shaffer and several nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his wife Betty A. (Burkholtz) Shirley along with one brother; James E. Shirley and one infant sister; Irene. Friends will be received from 2-6 pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney where a funeral service will be held at 6 pm with Joseph Buterbaugh officiating.
