Ronald E. Reiter

Ronald E. Reiter, 81, of Sportsburg, passed away on Sunday August 2, 2026 at his home.

He was born January 1, 1945 to Ira and Lessie (Swartz) Reiter in Sykesville.

Ron was a member of New Beginnings Church in Punxsutawney, the NRA and the Gold Prospectors Association. He was an auto mechanic for 35 years. He worked for MaGill Motors in Indiana, then worked for Murray’s Ford in DuBois, until his retirement. He enjoyed guns and was an avid hunter.

He is survived by his children, Duane Reiter and wife Laura, Stump Creek, Keith Reiter, Sykesville, Cindy Reiter, Sportsburg, two grandchildren Sara Macormac, and husband Donald, Troy Reiter, two great grandchildren, Caden and Maddock Macormac a brother, Ira Reiter and wife Nancy, DuBois, a sister Betty Wall, OH and several nieces and nephews, and two sisters-in-law Ann Weber, Irma Lingenfelter and a brother-in-law, Ronald Aljoe

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Frances S. “Fran” Reiter, in 2010, two brothers Richard and Kenneth Reiter.

Friends will be received on Wednesday August 5, from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 5:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Ave. Punxsutawney, PA 15767, with Pastor Devin Wintermyer officiating.

Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville.
