Robert C. Whitfield, Sr.

Robert C. Whitfield, Sr., 70, of Punxsutawney, passed away on October 1, 2025, in Dubois, PA.

Robert was born on February 25, 1955, in Dayton, PA.  Early in his career, Robert worked in the gas and oil industry. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and attending church at Mt. Tabor Bible Church, which was a significant part of his life. He was also a lifetime member of the McCalmont Volunteer Fire Department.

Robert is survived by two sons, Corey M. Whitfield (LeAnn) of Punxsutawney and Robert C. "Bobbie" Whitfield, Jr. (Monica) of Anita; one daughter, Crystal L. Kougher of Falls Creek; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He also leaves behind two brothers, Joe Whitfield (Cindy) of Johnstown and Melvin Whitfield of Punxsutawney; and five sisters, Mary Louise of Walston, Jeanie of Curwensville, Martha Ann of Ohio, Dolly of Wellsboro, and Beverly of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Myra (Peterman) Whitfield, his wife Wanda in 2006, and three brothers, Les, Sam, and John Whitfield.

Friends and family are invited to join together for a Memorial Gathering on October 9, 2025, starting at 3:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM with Pastor Doug Wolfe officiating at Mt. Tabor Bible Church, located at 1219 Anita-Oliveburg Road, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCabe Funeral Home, Inc. of Punxsutawney.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Mt. Tabor Bible Church, 1219 Anita-Oliveburg Road, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
