Robert Michael Wright

Robert Michael “Mike” Wright, 66, of McGees Mills, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026 at Penn Highlands, DuBois Hospital.

He was born March 16, 1960, to Robert W. and Mary L. (Price) Wright in Spangler.

Mike was a heavy equipment operator for Benjamin Coal Company, Johnson Brothers Coal Company, Amfire Coal Company, and retired from B & W Constructors. Mike enjoyed hunting, classic cars, attending car shows, and vacationing with his family in Ocean City, MD. Mike was a true Pittsburgh sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. Most of all Mike loved his family.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years Gina L. (Bennett) Wright, McGees Mills, a son Cody M. Wright and wife Kelsey, New Alexandria, four sisters; Cindy L. Tapper and husband Howie, McGees Mills, Ginger A. Felgar and husband Don, Punxsutawney, and Penny D. Delucia and Bob, Clearfield, a brother Randy W. Wright and wife Kathy, Mahaffey, mother-in-law Mary Lee Chilcote and husband Dave, Tyrone, a brother-in-law “Butt” Bennett and his step-son Kody Davis, Mahaffey, numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved cat Buttercup.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister Vickie Waltman.

Friends will be received on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the time of the memorial service beginning at 3:00 PM at the Waldron Funeral Home, 831 Market Street, Mahaffey, PA 15757.

The family asks that memorial donations be given at a memorial dinner being held in Mike’s honor on June 6, 2026 from 3-7:00 PM at the Mahaffey Fire Hall.
