Margaret C. (Scarantine) Lorelli, 91, of Dubois, peacefully passed away at her daughter’s house on the night of October 26th.
She was born January 21, 1934, to Cataldo and Theresa (Garvey) Scarantine, in Anita, PA, and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Anita. She was an elementary school teacher by trade, but left full time work to be a home maker. She later taught catechism at the St. Joseph’s Church in Anita and also was a substitute teacher at St. Francis Catholic School in Clearfield. She enjoyed crafting and making home-made gifts for friends and family for the holidays.
Margaret is survived by a daughter, Michelle Gilga and husband Mike of Reynoldsville, and two grandchildren, Michael Gilga of Albuquerque, NM, and Heather Gilga, of Reynoldsville, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Lorelli, on August 6, 2022, her parents, Cataldo and Theresa (Garvey) Scarantine, three sisters, Catherine Salada, Phyllis Himes and Mary Simpson, and three brothers, William, James, and Francis Scarantine.
Friends will be received on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 2:00 PM until the time of prayer service at 4:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home, 114 Maple Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA.
Interment will take place at the Adrian-Anita Catholic Cemetery.
