Loraine C. Snyder, 85, of Punxsutawney passed away on July 7, 2026 at AM/PM Senior Living surrounded by her family.

She was born on Dec. 31, 1940 at the Adrian Hospital in Punxsutawney to the Matthew and Elizabeth (Shiock) Uzzo.

Loraine graduated from Punxsy High School in 1959 and in 1969 she married the late Jon Snyder who preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 2024. She was a member of St. Adrian’s Church in Delancey and later SS Cosmas & Damian Church in Punxsutawney. Loraine worked at Punxsy Sportswear for 10 years, she enjoyed cleaning and was known to keep a meticulous home, but her most cherished work was as a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and attending their sporting events.

In addition to her parents and husband, Loraine was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Uzzo and sisters-in-law Joyce Uzzo and Patricia Uzzo.

She is survived by daughters Colleen (Brian) Ishman and Robin (Michael) Ishman, four grandchildren; Dr. Allison Ishman (Jonathon Dixon), Dylan Ishman (Joie Raybourn), Derek Ishman and Brandon Ishman, two brothers; William Uzzo and John (Katie) Uzzo and her sister MaryAnn Smith (Ed), who spent countless hours taking care of and supporting her, and a brother-in-law, Richard Snyder.

Loraine’s family extends many thanks to AM/PM Senior Living, 365 Hospice, Msgr. Riccardo, SSCD Choir, “The Goodbye Girls” for the luncheon, and all the family’s caring friends for their love and support.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc. and per Loraine’s wishes there will be no visitation. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at SS Cosmas & Damian Church, 616 W. Mahoning St., Punxsutawney at 11am on Thursday, July 9th with Msgr. Riccardo, Officiant.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Loraine’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
