Laverne E. Nulph, 95 of Punxsutawney, a resident of Mahoning Towers, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Mulberry Square Elder Care & Rehabilitation Center. Laverne was born August 17, 1922 in Oak Ridge, PA. a daughter of the late Jesse M. and Tabitha (Kelso) Bailey. October 20, 1945 she married her loving husband Henry M. Nulph who preceded her in death. Laverne was a member of the Distant Church of God for 45 years before moving to the Punxsutawney area where she attended the First Church of God. She was also a longtime member of the Womens Missionary Society and loved attending Whitehall Church of God Camp in Emlenton, PA. where she attended for over 75 years.She loved playing bingo with her friends at the Mahoning Towers and watching the Price is Right and Family Feud. Her favorite times were visiting with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother and the last member of her immediate family. Laverne was the beloved mother of three children; Marsha Nordstrom and husband Bill of Warren, Roger Nulph and companion; Vickie Raybuck of Hawthorn and Wendy Myers of Punxsutawney. Beloved grandmother of Jodi Lynn Renwick, Jason Nulph, Kristen Hartle, Kara Barone, Chris and Bradford Myers, Kendra Gould, Kevin Myers and 21 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband Henry, she was preceded in death by her son in law; Ken Myers, 2 brothers; William and Mervin Bailey and 4 sisters; Jessie Smith, Gertrude Bailey, Lucille Constable and Margaret Hill. Friends will be received from 2-8 pm Friday, October 20th at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 21st at the funeral home with Pastor Greg Smith officiating. Interment in Mt. Zion Cemetery is private.
