Kenneth D. Compton

Kenneth D. Compton, 81, of Summerville passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026 as the result of a traffic accident.

Ken was born on July 29, 1945 in Indiana to Kenneth M. and Charlotte (Slicker) Compton.

He was a 1963 graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School. After graduation, Ken served in the US Army as an Expert Rifleman and earning the rank of SGT. Ken married his beloved wife Gail (Shermanki) Compton and they enjoyed 10 years of marriage before her passing in 2004. Ken spent his career being self-employed with C&H Fencing. He enjoyed hunting and breeding and showing Alaskan Kleekai but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

Ken is survived by his children: Shawn (Krista) Compton, Worthville, Jonna L. (Shawn) Stonbraker, Punxsutawney, Shannon M. (Sean) Snyder, Las Vegas NV, and Jessica M. Compton, Knoxdale; grandchildren: Madison (Evan) States, Ashton Stonbraker (Brooke), Charlie Compton, Sean Snyder, Kelso, Dolby and Evan Snyder; a great grandson, Donnie Stonbraker and siblings: Tim Compton (Janet), Worthville, Linda Geist (Bob) Brookville and Barbara Hoffman (Larry) North Tonawanda, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

A private graveside service will be held at Coolspring Cemetery.

A celebration of life will be celebrated at a later date.
