Joshua Paul Cooper passed away on December 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family and friends. He was born November 20, 1978 in Pittsburgh, PA. The oldest of three children to G. Robert (Bob) and MaryAnn (M.A.) Cooper, Josh moved through this world with his magnetic charm and charisma, drawing in those who loved him. He was a graduate of Fox Chapel Area High School and Clarion University. The majority of his career was spent managing the bar at Jimmy Wan’s in Cranberry Township, where he made everyone feel welcome with his warm smile and vibrant personality.
Josh was the epitome of love and celebration. He always wanted to spend time with, and be surrounded by, those he loved. Family was at the heart of Josh's life. He cherished every moment spent with his daughters, Jenna and Charlie, who were undeniably his greatest accomplishment. His bond with his siblings, cousins, and friends was like no other and he loved nothing more than time spent with all of them on the “compound” in Punxsutawney, PA – his home away from home.
As an avid mountain biker, he found peace riding the trails of Pennsylvania, Colorado and Utah. He was a music man at heart – from karaoke to the perfect playlist – he had an innate ability of creating monumental moments through his choice of song.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, Jenna and Charlie, his parents Bob and M.A., his brother Jake (Anne Marie) of Waxhaw, NC and sister Maggie Cooper Tenenini (Rob) of Aspinwall, PA. He leaves behind his two nephews, Jackson Cooper and Cooper Tenenini, and two nieces, Giulianna Catalano and Maren Tenenini. Josh is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and loved ones who will all feel the absence of his dynamic presence and bright soul.
Josh will be dearly missed. He was a legend to many, an exception to all rules, and tour guide through all of the good times. His presence made everyone feel at ease. Wherever he was, was the place to be. And in every moment or space he filled, he provided for everyone the perfect time, the perfect line, or the perfect song. He was the celebration, the perfect song and truly one of a kind.
To honor Josh’s wishes, there will be no public funeral service. We invite you to please privately celebrate Josh’s memory in your own ways.
The family asks that memorial donations in Josh's memory be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network by visiting pancan.org or to Breast Cancer Research Foundation by visiting bcrf.org .
