Joseph E. Gamble, 91 of Meadville, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center.
Mr. Gamble was born January 2, 1925 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Samuel and Lillie (Postlewait) Gamble.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Frances H. (Harwick) Gamble.
Joseph was a WWII veteran of the US Navy. He was also a member of the Niagara River Masonic Lodge #785. He was retired from Bell Aircraft International where he worked as a large equipment mechanic and a member of the Operating Engineers #66. He also worked for the Meadville Medical Center. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, camping and gardening.
Joseph is survived by two daughters; Sandy Gamble of Meadville, Linda Jacobs of Monroe, NC., one grandson; Christopher Gamble and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife Frances, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Harland Guy and Merle Gamble and four sisters; Violet Mae Aul, Sara Jane Koreny, Goldie Ruth McFadden and Josephine Eleanor Douglas.
Friends will be received from 11am until 1 pm Monday, October 17 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney where a funeral service will be held at 1 pm with Joseph Buterbaugh officiating.
Interment is private for family.
