James R. Infantino

James R. Infantino, 88, of Punxsutawney passed away on Friday July 19, 2024 at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born February 17, 1936 to John A. and June (Reed) Infantino in Punxsutawney.

Jim was a veteran serving in the United States Army.

Jim was a member of Saint Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, Punxsutawney. He worked as an agent for the Attorney General’s Office in the Narcotics department for over 30 years before his retirement. He loved hunting, fishing, and taking trips to Montana. He was fond of feeding his backyard animals. He enjoyed going to breakfast with his friends at Lily’s Restaurant.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Dorothy (Bowman) Infantino, Punxsutawney; three step-sons, David Bartlett Jr. (Debby), Reynoldsville, Ronald Bartlett, Delaware, and Richard Bartlett, Mississippi; a brother Thomas Infantino, Carlisle; a daughter-in-law Suzanne Bartlett, Texas; a sister-in-law JoAnn Infantino, Punxsutawney, four close nephews and one niece, John W. Infantino (Stephanie Allegretti), Creighton, Ronald A. Infantino (Christine), Punxsutawney, Robert J. Infantino (Kasey Schaffer), Big Run, Richard T. Infantino, Punxsutawney, and Ronda Jo Berkey (Troy), Florida; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, a great great grandson, and other numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ronald Infantino, a sister Rose Lee Smith and a step-son Edward Bartlett.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday July 21, 2024 from 1 PM until 3 PM at McCabe Funeral Home inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767. Military honors will be performed by the Jefferson County Veterans Honor Guard at 3 PM Sunday.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
