Gordon G. Snyder

Gordon Snyder,86 of Mahaffey, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at his home. Gordon was born August 1, 1932 in Mahaffey to the late Charles and Mary (Marshall) Snyder. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Inez (Stiffler) Snyder on December 30, 2018. Gordon was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a retired UMWA Coal Miner, but his life's work was as a Pastor. He pastored at Curry Run and Banner Ridge Churches for many years. He enjoyed farming, hunting and fishing and just being with his family. He is survived by 4 sons; Daniel G. Snyder. Randy L. Snyder and wife Kelly all of Mahaffey, Gene C. Snyder and wife Kristi of Summersville, W,Va. and Dean L. Snyder and wife Linda of Mahaffey. 2 brothers; Paul Snyder and Jim Snyder and wife Kathy along with 6 grandchildren; Cory and wife Melissa, Kayla, Jonathan and wife Tiana, Benjamin and wife Katy,Nathan and Anna and husband Brian. 2 great grandchildren; Owen and Cameron. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor James Hurd officiating. Private interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
