Francis Louis Gigliotti

Francis Louis Gigliotti, affectionately known as "Jiggs," passed away at his home on May 23, 2024. He was born in Punxsutawney on February 8, 1938.

In his early years, Francis served as an altar boy and has been a lifetime member of SSCD Church.  He was also a member of the Black Knights Drum & Bugle Corps. Francis graduated from SSCD in 1955, marking the beginning of a life filled with accomplishments and cherished memories.

Francis dedicated 43 years of his life to working for B&O, Chessie System, CSX, and B&P Railroads before his well-deserved retirement. His commitment and hard work in the railroad industry left a lasting impact.

Outside of work, Francis found joy in various hobbies and interests. He had a passion for woodworking and could often be found tinkering in his garage.  One of his favorite pastimes was taking his beloved dog, Sammy, for car rides - enjoying the simple moments of companionship and friendship.

Francis will be dearly missed by his surviving family: his wife, Betty Manners Gigliotti whom he married on September 19, 1959; two daughters, Cherri Gigliotti of Punxsutawney and Dr. Chandra Gigliotti of Easton, MD; sister Rita (Jim) Smith of Brockway; niece Jennifer Smith; nephew David Smith; and K-9 companion Sammy.

He is preceded in death by his parents John V. and Lucille (Bonach) Gigliotti and son-in-law Derek Guridi.

A visitation will be held on May 28, 2024, at McCabe Funeral Home, Inc. in Punxsutawney from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM followed by a Prayer Service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM to honor and celebrate the life of "Jiggs".
