Eugene E. Hankey, Sr.

August 31, 1935 — August 13, 2018

Eugene E. Hankey Sr., 82 of Derry, PA, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018 at his home.

He was the son of Clyde C. Hankey and Daisy Irene Hutchison, born on August 31, 1935 in Ligonier, PA.

Eugene was a member of the First Church of God and was a past Deacon and Trustee.  He served in the United States Army at Fort Knox, KY and Fort Benning, GA.  Eugene was a tool and die maker, and a tooling engineer, working at Riverside Tool and Die in Latrobe and Latrobe Die Casting and owning his own business, Xpert-Machining Inc. in Derry.  He was a Democratic Committee person in Derry, Twp. and was a member of the DTMA Board.  Eugene loved to travel and golf.  Eugene was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Doris J. (Andrews) Hankey of Derry; one son, Eugene E. Hankey Jr. and wife Lori of Granger, IN; one granddaughter, Breanna Williams-Hankey; three brothers, Robert Hankey, Charles Hankey, Clyde Hankey and wife Pat; half brothers, Samuel Rose and wife Bonny, Richard Rose; half sister, Patricia Brenneman and husband Alfred.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 16, 2018 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm. at the McCabe Funeral Home, 300 W. Third Ave. Derry. His funeral service will be on Friday at 10 am. at the funeral home.  Military service by Latrobe-Derry Veterans Honor Guard at 9:45 am.
