Eric S. Waite

Eric S. Waite, 85 of Punxsutawny, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Jefferson Manor in Brookville. Eric was born June 26, 1932 in Bradford, England to the late Herbert and Frances (Firth) Waite. Mr. Waite retired from the postal service as a mail carrier and was also a farmer. He was very athletic in his younger years and in 1956 won the State Championship in New Zealand for the Race Walking Team. He was also a member of the Penn Athletic Club for many years. September 14, 1968 he married his beloved wife Ladonna L. (Dorko) Waite who preceded him in death. He is survived by two sons; James S. Waite and Jesse A. Waite. One daughter; Whitney L. Basinger, two grandsons; Michael A. Waite and Collin M. Waite and wife Ashley along with three great-grandchildren. All arrangements are private for family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army in memory of Eric S. Waite. Arrangements are under the direction of the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
