Dorothy "Bap" Gowin, 82 of Mahaffey, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown. She was born October 2, 1936 in Chest Twp. to the late Russell and Olive (Holes) McMasters. She was preceded in death by her husband John Edward Gowin and her first husband Walter J. Queen, Jr. She attended the Cherry Corner Bible Church. She loved reading and studying her bible, but most of all she loved being a wonderful mother and grandmother. Dorothy is survived by one son; Jeffery Gowin of Mahaffey, Pamela Queen Gaffney of Florida, five grandchildren; Stephanie, Carissa and husband Alejandro, Amanda and husband Chris, Robin and husband Jay, Elizabeth and husband Jaron and one step grandchild; Devin. Seven great grandchildren; Damon, Bradley, Ethan, Christian, Hayden, Paige and Eli. One niece; Marcia Smith, two great nieces; Chris and Candy and two great nephews; Aiden and R.J. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by one son; Steven H. Queen, one daughter; Mary Ann Gowin, two brothers; Earl and Ivan McMasters, three sisters; Joan Wilson, Eleanor and Leona Spaid. One son in law; Joseph Gaffney and one niece; Ginger Marshall. Friends will be received from 4-8 pm Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the Waldron Funeral Home in Mahaffey. A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor Myron Wattenphul officiating.
