Dolores M. "Dodie" Snyder

Dolores M. "Dodie" Snyder, 89 of Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, May 15, 2017 at home with her family by her side.

Mrs. Snyder was born January 12, 1928 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Leo P. McGovern and Margaret Elizabeth (Chillcott) McGovern. Dodie was very strong in her catholic faith. She adored her children and grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with her family. She was the head housekeeper at the Pantall for 25 years before retiring where she met her good friends; Anna and David Conrad. Dodie always put everyone first. she was a loving and caring person.

She is survived by her children; Paul Snyder of Punxsutawney, Kathy Sturgeon and husband Terry of Mayport, Marlene Vrobel and Charles Lemelle of Punxsutawney, Francine Frynkewicz and husband Rick of Sewickley, her grandchildren; Casey, Kayla, Beth, Haley and Evan, great-grandchildren; Kenzie, Kaden, Cora, Noah, and Easton, two brothers; Jerry McGovern of Delmont, Tommy McGovern of Pittsburgh and her special caregiver; Jackie Dybata.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, four brothers; Pat, Johnny, Frannie, and Danny, two sisters; Betty and Sandy.

Friends will be received Thursday, May 18, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

Additional viewing will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 from 10-11 AM time of service at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Ryver officiating.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
