Craig A. Merrill

Craig A. Merrill, 48, of LaJose, passed away at home on Monday, Dec. 12, 2022 with his family by his side.

He was born September 20, 1974 in Williamsport to Donald E. and Sharon R. (Hoover) Merrill. They survive.

Craig was a retired United States Navy Veteran serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

He was an active member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, Hastings. After Craig retired from the Navy in September of 2013, he and his family moved to LaJose. He immediately became involved volunteering throughout his community. Craig was instrumental in starting the St. Vincent De Paul food pantry in Hastings. He was always willing to help where he was needed. Craig enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors. Craig’s pride and joy was being a father to his son Judson.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca A. (Lewis) Merrill, LaJose, a son Judson A. Merrill, his parents, Donald E. and Sharon R. Merrill, Montoursville, mother-in-law, Patricia Harris, LaJose, a brother, Brian Merrill and Grace Kravitz, Hughesville, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 3-7 PM at the Waldron Funeral Home, 831 Market Street, Mahaffey, PA 15757. Friends will also be received on Friday, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church, 147 7th Ave., Hastings, PA 16646. A funeral mass will be celebrated immediately following at the church with Fr. Thaddeus Rettger, Celebrant.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Hastings.
