Clarence E. “Steve” Stephens, Jr., of Brookville, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 with his family by his side at the Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
He was born August 30, 1943 to Clarence E. and Letha (Strohmyer) Stephens in Clarion.
Steve was a truck driver for various companies. After his retirement he held various part-time jobs throughout the area. Steve enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing games, and smoking cigarettes. Most of all Steve loved his family. He loved sitting on his front porch, visiting with his family and friends. He was known for his karaoke skills, singing until his family asked him to stop.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce (Lingenfelter) Stephens, Brookville, his children; Brad S. Stephens, Coolspring, Sheila D. Atcheson and husband Michael, Punxsutawney, Mike R. Stephens and wife Menessa, Coolspring, eight grandchildren: Hayden Stephens and wife Jordan, Claira Stephens, Hannah Stephens, Mackenzie Atcheson, Clayton Stephens, Darcie Atcheson, Kylee Beal, Kyra Beal, six great-grandchildren, two sisters; Virginia “Ginny” Reitz and husband Melvin, Kathy Wonderling, a brother Bill Stephens and wife Ellen and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter-in-law Tobi R. Stephens, and three sisters, Holly Frye, Claire Smith, and Dorothy Wonderling.
Friends will be received on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM at the Ohl United Methodist Church, 3229 Heathville-Ohl Road, Summerville, PA 15864.
