Charlotte M. Lane

Charlotte M. Lane, 87, of Punxsutawney passed away on December 7, 2024 surrounded by her family.

She was born November 18, 1937 in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to the late John C. and Ethel Mae (Lewis) Hill.

Charlotte was a member of the Salvation Army Church. She enjoyed softball and was a member of Charlie's Arco softball team. Charlotte’s other hobbies included crocheting, puzzles, crafts, card games, bingo, and fishing; but most of all she loved being around family.

She is survived by siblings; Mary Elizabeth Campagnola and Lillian Jane Woods as well as her eight children: daughter Deborah Lane and Jim Mowrey, son Richard Lane, daughters Tammy and Randy Swanson, Huey Weaver and Pooh Jewell, Roberta and Scott McElheny, Rebecca Lane and Michael Weaver, son Calvin Keith Lane, Jr. and Barbara Kerr, and daughter Tabitha and Jason Frampton. She is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Calvin K. Lane, Sr., grandson Buddy Ray Shank, brothers; Junior, Phillip, Raymond, Alexander, Charles and Gerald Hill and sisters; Audrey Love, Jemima Spiers, Geraldine McCormick, and Violet Neal.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2pm until the time of service at 6pm at the McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA 15767. 

Interment will take place at Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney, PA.
