Bonnie Jean Cochran, 88, of Punxsutawney passed away at her home on November 29, 2023.
She was born on October 10,1935 in Coolspring, PA to the late Frank and Lula (Wolfe) Cochran.  

Bonnie graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School and went right to work at Punxsutawney Sportswear; later cooking and baking at the famous Pantall Hotel until her retirement.

Bonnie will be remembered for her wicked sense of humor, infectious laugh and mischievous smile. She had an exceptional ability to bring light into even the darkest of situations. She was always there for her friends and family when they needed a shoulder to lean on or a listening ear. She was a longtime volunteer at the Red Cross Blood Mobile. Bonnie was a strong and independent woman who did things her own way. She had a sweet tooth and loved to bake and her pies were family favorites. She enjoyed crocheting doilies, Christmas ornaments, and Crosses that she gave away to family and friends. Her flower beds gave her great joy; especially her prize-winning gladiolas. She had a special passion for sewing teddy bears and growing heirloom tomatoes. Bonnie had a deep connection with her faith and was a longtime active member of the Woodland Avenue Methodist Church. Her devotion was an inspiration to everyone around her. 

She was preceded in death by her brother Calvin Cochran and a niece Teresa Maroglio. She is survived by her sister Mona Maroglio (Fred) of North East, PA, her sister-in-law Pat Cochran (Calvin), a nephew Kent Maroglio of Waterford, PA, nieces: Tamara Maas (Scott) of North East, PA, Margaret Yeaton (Brian) of Alabama, Linda Cochran of California, and Charlotte Cochran of Erie, PA, great-nieces: Autymn Maas (Matt), Summer Maas (Danny) of North East, PA, Cassandra Murphy, and Allyssa Maroglio (Max) and her great-nephew Russell Murphy (Kaylee) as well as her many friends especially her exceptional caregivers, Paula and Rozz who made her last year at home a very special time full of love and laughter.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 3:00 pm until the time of service at 4:00 pm at McCabe Funeral Home, Inc., 114 Maple Avenue in Punxsutawney. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Woodland Avenue Methodist Church in memory of Bonnie's unwavering faith and love for her church and community.
