Loretta S. Ostrowski, 83, of Punxsutawney, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday, September 21, 2021.
She was born to Lewis M. and Mary T. (Fisher) Shields in Banks Township, Indiana County.
Loretta attended Saint Peters United Church of Christ. She was a 1956 Graduate of Punxsutawney Area High School. She was a former employee of Pramco Sports Wear until its closure. Loretta then became a custodian for the Punxsutawney Area School District working primarily at Mary A. Wilson until her retirement. After her retirement, she helped as an aid in schools and on school busses. Loretta was known as an excellent seamstress. She made clothing for numerous friends, family and doll clothing. She enjoyed reading, watching soap operas, playing cards, bingo and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa K. Bullers and husband Michael, Oliveburg, three grandchildren, James Bullers and wife Stephanie, Reynoldsville, Jordan Bullers,
Andrew Bullers, both of Oliveburg, a great grandchild Vincent Bullers, two sisters, Pansy Stiver, and Violet Smith both of Punxsutawney, a brother-in-law Thomas Pearce, Glen Campbell,
a sister-in-law Dorothy Shields, Desire, a close niece Cathy Krepp and family, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Jack Craft,
second husband David Ostrowski, five sisters, Cecil Fetterman, Edna Smith, Hilda Lunger, Thelma Pearce, Lillie Pearce and four brothers, Russell, Billy, Lemuel and Grant Shields Sr. and an infant brother Virgil.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave., Punxsutawney, PA. A funeral service will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Guy Smith officiating.
