Daniel Thomas “General” Wulfert, 63, of Cloe, passed away on Saturday January 29, 2022 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

 

He was born October 13, 1958, to the late Thomas C. and Mary E (Eddy) Wulfert in Punxsutawney.

 

Dan served 19 years with the Army Reserves. He belonged to the Rossiter Sportsman’s Club serving as vice president. Dan spent over 36 years volunteering with volunteer fire departments. Serving with Marion Center, Perry Township and Rossiter. Dan was a truck driver by heart. He drove tri-axle for most of his career, driving for various companies, most recently driving for Scott Sallack and also drove flatbed for Reybuck’s South Side Service. Dan was an avid NASCAR, Dirt Track and Steelers fan. He attended numerous NASCAR and dirt track races with his family. Dan loved watching football games, especially the Steelers, hunting, fishing, camping and loved spending time with his family. Dan always said, that without the support of his family and friends he would have given up long ago.

 

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Jane (Umbaugh) Wulfert, Cloe, a son Shaun D. Wulfert and wife Ashley, Dixonville, Jason E. Wulfert and wife Amanda, Punxsutawney, a daughter Jessica M. Yoder and husband Frank, Punxsutawney, three grandchildren, Madison Wulfert and boyfriend, Cameron, Statesville, NC, Austin and Coleton Yoder, Punxsutawney, two sisters Lois McKee, Shefield, Rita Lippert and husband Ricky, Marion Center, a brother Charles E. Wulfert, Punxsutawney, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Daniel H. and Harry C. Wulfert.  

 

Friends will be received on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until the time of service at 7:00 PM at the McCabe Funeral Home Inc., 114 Maple Ave. Punxsutawney, PA 15767.

 

Burial will take place at Marchand Cemetery.
